We added vocabulary words and articulation targets to orange pieces of paper. We practiced our targets, crumpled up the papers, and played a quick game of basketball.

    This theme goes perfectly with my March Madness lesson. As a Kentuckian, I like to read a book about going to a UK game at this time of year. It is a fun collaborative lesson because I talk briefly about colleges across our state and what state regions they represent (Bluegrass, etc.) it is never to early to spark interest in higher education!

    I haven’t started the basketball theme since we had three snow days and a two-hour delay last week (yay Pennsylvania!), but I LOVE the orange sticky notes and bucket idea! My kids tend to like crumpling and destroying papers, so I’m sure they’ll be thrilled when they’re actually supposed to be doing it! Can’t wait to try it out.

    I love the sticky note idea- I think I’ll use describing words and position words to place on pictures on the pages of books, and then incorporate the basketball idea! My jumpy K & 1st graders will love it! It’s always good to incorporate movement! Thank you!
